JUMPSCARE

OVERALL SCARY

GORE

One of the absolute best horror films of all time. Do yourself a favor and watch it alone in the middle of the night, headphones on and all the lights off, because your first viewing will be amazing and this will make it even more so.

It has a fair amount of gore and very few jump scares. However, there is an enormous build up of dread and fear that makes up most of the experience and dominates your senses if you can suspend your disbelief just enough to get lost in this mastercrafted tale of horror, wits, paranoia, and bravery in the face of terror in its rawest form.

This movie is every bit as amazing as the original Alien movie and in some criteria it even surpasses it.

OVERALL SCARY

GORE

One of the best both the Sci-Fi and Horror genres have to offer. Amazingly crafted, chilling, isolating, claustrophobic, uneasy, paranoia-inducing perfection.

This masterpiece is backed by not only a very believable and off-beat cast, but by some of the best practical effects ever put to screen, and without the unnecessary levels of gore and jumpscares that have infected the genre as of late. On that subject, The Thing is still pretty gross mind you, but it never feels excessive or forced.

A modern masterpiece in every sense of the word, The Thing will live on in horror history as one of its crowning achievements, and only gets better with every rewatch.
